Call For Submissions - Enchanted Art Gallery
ART GALLERY COMPETITION FOR YOUNG ARTISTS!
Give a child the opportunity to have their artwork displayed in a public art gallery this festive season. The Enchanted Art Gallery at Resorts World Birmingham celebrates the creativity and imagination of young artists from across the region.
We’re thrilled to invite young creatives to submit their work for display within this festive pop‑up gallery space at Resorts World. The Enchanted Art Gallery offers a fantastic opportunity for under 16s in the West Midlands and Warwickshire areas to feature in an art gallery open to the public.
Selected artworks will be chosen by renowned art historian and author Ruth Millington, and exhibited within the gallery, open to the public on selected dates between Saturday 28th November 2026 and Saturday 30th January 2027, 11am-4pm.
Selected artists will receive:
- Exhibition space in The Enchanted Art Gallery
- A copy of Ruth Millington's latest book, The Science of Art
- A certificate
- The chance to win one of three Highly Commended Young Artist Awards
One Highly Commended Award Winner from each of the three categories will receive:
(Categories: 0-5 years, 6-10 years, 11-16 years)
- £250 for themselves
- £250 for their school
- Highly Commended Certificate
The gallery space will also host drop-in art sessions, with the opportunity to create cards for local children in need. For each card created, Resorts World Birmingham will donate a colouring pad and colouring pens to a child in need, as part of local charity, Renewal's Toy Offering Campaign for 2027.
Theme – Winter Wonderland
The theme ‘Winter Wonderland’ invites children to create a world of magic, imagination and wintery wonder! Think woodland scenes, snowy days, or fairies and elves, and fantastical beasts who can live together in our enchanted gallery. Equally the piece could be focussed on the colours of winter, abstract shapes to depict their own ‘wonderland’ or something else entirely that conjures up the magic of the season!
Artwork Eligibility
We welcome 2D artworks, including photography, painting, collage, drawing and printmaking on card, paper, fabric or canvas that can be displayed on the walls. Please note that due to the limitations of the space, sculptures cannot be accepted. Artworks will not need to be framed.
