Frank Bruno Live

Thursday 20th September, from 7pm.

Continuing our series of our Sports Bar star appearances, former WBC Heavyweight Boxing World Champion Frank Bruno will be joining us for a FREE live Q&A*, an evening of boxing and sports tales from over the years.
Bruno will be hosted by stand-up comedian Charlie Hale, MC to the world’s biggest boxing stars including Frank Bruno, David Haye, Tyson Fury and Antony Joshua, having previously also toured with Floyd Mayweather, Nigel Benn, Joe Calzaghe & Carl Froch. We think he knows a thing or two about boxing then…

As well as hearing all the sports tales and chat from over the years between Bruno & Hale, there’ll be time for questions from the audience too.
Although this event is free, to guarantee entry on the night please pre-register for the event below.

ABOUT FRANK BRUNO
40 wins, 5 losses.

That sums up the sensational career of Frank Bruno.
As an amateur boxer he amassed a 20-1 win career, losing only to (and eventually beating) Joe Christie while representing the Philip Game Amateur Boxing Club. His amateur career culminated with Frank boxing for Young England and becoming the youngest ever Amateur British Champion at 18 years of age. He became a professional boxer in 1982, starting with 21 consecutive wins by knockout.

After a number of defeats, to global boxing greats Mike Tyson, Tim Witherspoon and Gerrie Coetzee, Bruno finally became World Heavyweight Champion in 1995 after beating Oliver McCall, who had previously defeated Lennox Lewis and Larry Holmes. Frank Bruno was hailed a boxing legend, with an open top victory tour around London.

Since giving up professional boxing, in 2003 Frank was diagnosed as having Bipolar disorder. His well-documented illness put Frank in the public eye, using this media attention to help with the stigma attached to mental health and to help raise the standards of care given to those suffering with mental health issues. Frank supports many charities for mental health including his own, the Frank Bruno Foundation, both financially and with his time.

Join us here too in October when Frank will be joining us again for Resorts World’s Variety Night; not your average Friday night filled with fun, food and drink and an entertainment pick ‘n’ mix, all to raise money for The Frank Bruno Foundation and Queen Elizabeth’s Hospital.

Be sure to get your tickets below.

*As this event takes place in Sports Bar, inside Genting International Casino, it is over 18s only.
